Like all fish, snapper have certain tendencies and preferences. Primarily, you will be able to find snapper at a depth of around 120 feet or deeper during the summer months in Texas. That is only a general rule, however. Depending on the water temperature and current, snapper can be found at depths ranging from 60 to 220 feet. 2015-06-28 18.20.13The fish are also known to heavily concentrate in areas within 20 to 40 miles of Galveston and Freeport, making Galveston the ideal location to catch snapper.
